30 Nov 1939

39 The greater part of the home crop of oats, amounting to about two million tons, still remains on the farms and, owing to bad threshing weather and the ###ct that farmers are holding it for higher prices, supplies are coming forward ###ry slowly. ### RATE OF CONSUMPTION. The average monthly requirements of imported cereals amount to ###0,000 tons. This is based upon the average consumption of the past five years. It ###st be remembered, however, that the demand for cereal feeding-stuffs is somewhat ###gher in the period from October to April than in the other months of the year.
