REVISED DRAFT TENTH REPORT. BREAD.

6 Mar 1941

6. The Committee is assured that the nutritive value of bread baked from the recommended flour would be greater than that of white flour reinforced by the addition of vitamin B1 and a calcium salt. 7. Furthermore, the Committee understand that arrangements for adding vitamin B1 to the whole of the white flour used in the country cannot be completed for several months to come. 8. The Committee accordingly recommend (1) that the Government immediately arrange for the manufacture of a national bread of 85 per cent.
