4. The Medical Research Cuncil are prepared to make further investigations on absenteeism and sickness in industry if it is thought desirable and if their investigators are given full facilities for such work. The Minister of Labour, whose Department is acting as the central agency for the collection of statistics relating to absenteeism (L.P.(43) 3rd Meeting, Minute 5) will no doubt inform me if he considers that davantage should be taken of thos offer. 5 During the course of the next few days, I shall be circulating a further report on absence from work based on the returns collected by the Ministry of Labour for the period up to the end of September, 1943.
