-2- rate of increase in stocks held by gasworks, who are now within 46,000 tons (or 0.1 weeks' supply) of the figure recorded at the corresponding date last year, compared with a difference of 526,000 tons (1.1 weeks' supply) at the end of April. Stocks held by every class of consumer, except the householder and domestic merchant, are now in excess of the current stockbuilding programme. The only unsatisfactory feature in the current programmes is in house coal supply, deliveries for which have been seriously below programme in certain areas.
