MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT BY THE MINISTER OF FUEL AND POWER December, 1942. ###DUCTION AND EMPLOYMENT 1. The average output of saleable coal in the four weeks ended 26th December, 1942, was 3,880,100 tons. The Christmas holidays accounted for a loss representing rather less than 300,000 tons a week spread over the month. Allowing for this, therefore, there was an improvement over the previous month, this being largely explained by a sudden spurt in the "bull" week, on which the Christmas pay is calculated, to 4,254,000 tons.
