RE###ATRIATION 1. OF THE CON- T###RL OF TH###MAS COOK & ON, LTD. THE COMMITTEE had under consideration a memor- andum by the Chancellor of the Exchequer (L.P.(40)51) proposing the repatriation of the control of Messrs. Thomas Cook & Son, Ltd. In this paper the Chancellor of the Exchequer proposed that approval should be given to a proposal submitted by Lord Stamp that the British Railways should acquire control of Thomas Cook & Son, Ltd., by buying a majority of the shares from the Custodian of Enemy Property.
