NORTH AFRICAN TRAFFIC. 6. Services between unoccupied France and French North Africa have been maintained. The number of ships at present employed has decreased by 50% in comparison with 1940 but the total tonnage of ships operating is approximately the same. At least 20 of the ex British, Allied and Danish ships totalling 50,500 g.r.t. which were taken over by Vichy under German pressure are now working in this area. There is as yet no evidence of abnormal activities except the reported introduction of convoys for ships to and from TUNISIA.
