Fourth. Appreciation of enemy air threat remains as stated in D.I.O. (42) 119 dated September 1942 as follows:(a) In the event of a German invasion of Turkey 150 long-range bombers operating by night from Central and Eastern Anatolia and giving a maximum scale of 50-60 sorties, or a sustained scale of 25-30 sorties. (b) In the event of a German invasion of Caucasia extending to Northern Persia and Northern Iraq 200 long-range bombers operating by night from Northern Persia and Northern Iraq, and giving a maximum scale of 60-70 sorties or a sustained scale of 30-40 sorties.
