Covert Propaganda 1948

A file of correspondence and memoranda discussing special operations and propaganda directed against the Eastern Bloc during the early stages of the Cold War. Subjects covered include the coordination of propaganda, its potential nature and subject-matter, and the nations and people to which it should be directed; the use of political refugees to build contacts and encourage opposition to communism behind the Iron Curtain; the potential for special operations against the Soviets, including sabotage, blackmail, and assassination; methods of covertly encouraging the development of a liberal faction in Egypt; and coordination of special operations with the American intelligence services.
