A file of reports, correspondence, and memoranda covering British trade with Turkey. Documents include reports and letters, some in French, relating to the Anglo-French purchase of the Constantinople Quays Company to aid trade with Turkey, in which the British intelligence services invested money. Amongst the papers are arrangements for the acquisition; financial records of the company; correspondence with the Bank of England over financing; reports of dividends; reports on the Turkish customs tariffs and their implications for the company; and a scheme to acquire land to construct docks in Istanbul on the shores of the Bosphorus.
