SECRET MR. McDERMOTT said that the points he wished the Committee to discuss were the delegation's programme, the examination of departmental intelligence briefs which should be carried out in London before they left for Austria, and finally the question of the financial ceiling on which the delegation's proposals would eventually be based. PROGRAMME MR. McDERMOTT said that the Foreign Office had that morning received a reply from H.M. Ambassador saying that he and the G.O.C.-in-C. agreed to the delegation visiting Austria during the first week in October, and suggesting that the delegation might Wish to consult Colonel Whitefoord before they left since he would be available in London from October 1st.
