SECRET GUARD the Chiefs of Staff to the Joint Planning Staff, in consultation with the Joint Intelligence Committee, for examination and report. The Joint Planning Staff were finalising their report+ that afternoon and wished to include in it, if possible, a section containing the J.I.C. views on the intelligence aspects. It was suggested that, in the light of a telegram≠ which had just been received from J.I.C.(F.E.), the Committee would wish to defer commenting on the security aspects of the report pending the anticipated receipt of views on this subject from the British Defence Coordination Committee, Far East.
