EMPLOYMENT OF ARMY NATIONAL SERVICE MEN ON COMPLETION OF LANGUAGE TRAINING THE COMMITTEE had before them a minute by the Secretary= covering a minute from the Secretary of the L.S.I.B.x, which enclosed extracts from a paper by the Director, G.C.H.Q.⌿ containing a proposal that the J.I.C. should consider a plan to employ army national service linguists on certain G.C.H.Q. tasks, or, alternatively, on some other intelligence activity, for example, the reading and indexing of Russian Press and periodicals and the extraction of overt intelligence therefrom.
