(47) 52nd Meeting (0) Minute 1) THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute+ by the Secretary covering the preliminary views of the Directors of Plans on a request to provide an estimate of the military and economic capabilities to the British Commonwealth and U.S.A., which was required for the preparation of the report+, entitled as above. BRIGADIER POETT said that until the policy regarding the shape and size of our peace-time forces was clarified, it would not be possible for the Joint Planning Staff to estimate the military capabilities of the United Kingdom.
