3. PRIORITY FOR THE PREPARATION OF J.I.C. REPORTS INVOLVING THE NATURE AND SCALE OF ATTACK BY ENEMY FORCES. (Previous reference: J.I.C. (47) 45th Meeting (0) Minute 1) THE SUB-COMMITTEE held a discussion with the Directors of Plans concerning the priority for the preparation of reports by the Sub-Committee which concerned the possible scale and nature of attack against different parts of the world by enemy forces. In discussion, it was agreed that, before proceeding further with any reports of this nature, the Sub-Committee should undertake two preliminary studies; first, a forecast of what the situation throughout the world in 1956/60 might be, which might if necessary include alternative situations for some countries; secondly, an overall forecast of enemy strategic intentions covering the same period.
