ENCLOSURE. The Prime Minister desires the Chiefs of Staff to examine and report upon the implications, from the military point of view, of the two hypothetical alternatives set out below:(1) That this country should concert with France, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Roumania, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, or any of them, an undertaking to resist by force any attempt by Germany to impose a forcible solution of the Czechoslovak problem. (2) That this country should give an assurance to the French Government, that, in the event of the French Government being compelled to fulfil their obligations to Czechoslovakia, consequent upon an act of aggression by Germany, the United Kingdom would at once lend its support to the French Government.
