Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on France: of Group Eberbach being reinforced, on August 9; reports of the situation in Brittany: that French auxiliaries and gendarmerie at Brest stopped work and no longer obeyed the orders of Admiral Negadelle; that staff of the 24th Minesweeper Flotilla that arrived in Brest on August 9 are being employed as a Combat Group; and that in St Malo the Russian 582nd Battery was blown up by saboteurs, the Russian 602nd Battalion declined battle, there were heavy casualties among officers and men, but there was little will to resist, and artillery ammunition for two days only remains.
