A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Western Europe: a battle report from a unit in the Army Group B pocket, noting considerable Allied advances to the north-east, on April 9; on the results of Allied air raids on German naval installations at Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven and Bremen, on March 30; that Kesselring orders last-minute protection for railways supporting the withdrawal of key industrial output, from the Zeiss Works at Jena, the V-Weapon and jet-propelled fighter production from the Erfurt - Nordhausen area and foodstuffs and infantry ammunition from northern Germany, on April 7, with production to continue for as long as possible; and that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West asks when the C-in-C for the North-west would be able to take command of Army Groups B and H, on April 8.
