This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) West sees definite signs of intended operations against the south coast of France, on June 15; on West Europe: that the LXXXIV Corps is to reconstruct a defensive line south of the U.S. break-through across the Cherbourg Peninsula; that all of the 77th Division fail to get through to the south, on June 18; that the 77th Infantry Division rearguard fail to break out, and are subordinated to the 709th Infantry Division, on June 18; a report by the LXXXIV Corps, that the 2nd SS Panzer Division is to assemble in the St Lo area early on June 18; that Allied infantry break through on both sides of Tilly, on June 18; on the German Air Force (GAF) 2nd Air Division's intentions for June 18-19, involving a torpedo attack by 40 Ju88s on shipping off the Cherbourg Peninsula; that the 363rd Division arrives in Bruges (it was previously in Denmark), on June 18; that two battalions of Russians with the 1st SS Corps were a complete failure in fighting on June 6-7; that the LXXXVI Corps (previously in the Bordeaux area) is to take over control between the Seine and the Orne, on June 17; that the GAF request an attack on a bridge carrying all Allied supplies to the east of the Orne, on June 17; and that the Germans claim victory northeast of St Lo, on June 18.
