Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: BONIFACE summaries for Mr Loxley (see also 6500 and 6507); on Italy: a report from the 1st Division on May 16, stating that Piumarola is encircled by the Allies but still in German hands, as of May 16; the German High Command report Allied artillery and air attacks are delaying bringing up tactical reserves, with rail lines interrupted in Northern Italy, on May 15; and on details of German defence positions in the Southern Alps; and on the Balkans: of activities in Greece, Serbia and Croatia, on May 13.
