Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Italy: a report from the 26th Panzer Division operating in the sector between the northern edge of Monte Carrozzo and the River Liri within the system of the SENGER switch line, on May 19; that elements of the 26th Panzer Division arrived in the Pico area, on May 18-19; of the 94th Infantry Division withdrawing from the area west of Itri to a new main defence line, on May 19; of problems in transporting elements of the 278th Infantry Division destined for Pescara from Rimini, on May 19; of rail traffic to Venice being interrupted for three days by air raids on Mestre; that an Army fuel depot is on fire; and of air raid damage in Ancona, on May 19; and of orders from the Commander in Chief (CinC) for the South West (Army Group C), for conduct of operations on the southern wing of the 10th Army, on May 15.
