A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: two reports from the Italian Front, for May 13; that the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division is on the move to the Cassino area, on May 13; a detailed report by the German Air Force (GAF) on an attack on an Allied convoy in the western Mediterranean on May 11, reported on May 13; and six reports of Allied air raid damage in Italy, on May 12 and 13; the GAF Command for the South-east reports that the Mosquito aircraft is faster than the FW 190, on May 5; with Churchill's query and the Chief of the Air Staff's (CAS's) response; and an addendum to the Japanese naval attaché in Berlin's report (ULTRA) on German defences in northern France and on possible Allied landing sites, from May 8 (see also 6477).
