Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Germany: that Ju52s from the 11th Flying Corps are to be detached to Borstel near Stendal for parachute jumping training on May 8; on South Europe: that German Air Force (GAF) night fighters will operate nightly over upper Italy, from May 6; that the GAF fighter unit II/NJG 6 is to operate in north Italy from May 5 against English bombers; and that the Germans give up the use of Civitavecchia harbour for unloading army supplies, on May 5; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, describing Turkey's uneasy international position and internal pressure on the government, on May 4; from the Japanese naval attaché in Berlin, on the capacity of the main belligerents to continue the war, as of March 29; on the effects of U.K.-U.S. air attacks, on March 30; and giving an assessment of the position of neutral countries in relation to Germany and the Allies, as at March 30.
