This file includes the following reports on Germany: that Ju52s from the 11th Flying Corps are to be detached to Borstel near Stendal for parachute jumping training on May 8; on South Europe: that German Air Force (GAF) night fighters will operate nightly over upper Italy, from May 6; that the GAF fighter unit II/NJG 6 is to operate in north Italy from May 5 against English bombers; and that the Germans give up the use of Civitavecchia harbour for unloading army supplies, on May 5; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, describing Turkey's uneasy international position and internal pressure on the government, on May 4; from the Japanese naval attaché in Berlin, on the capacity of the main belligerents to continue the war, as of March 29; on the effects of U.K.-U.S. air attacks, on March 30; and giving an assessment of the position of neutral countries in relation to Germany and the Allies, as at March 30.
