Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: telegrams sent to General Ismay at Cairo on the Prime Minister's (PM's) instructions; and the following reports on South-east Europe: of vessels being transferred to Cos for an operation, probably against Leros, on October 31; that the German Air Force (GAF) are running short of fuel, with guidance on economy measures, on October 31; of Italian information that British commandoes are transiting through Turkey to link up with partisans, on October 31; and that the German Navy are aware of an accumulation of Allied landing ships in Adriatic ports, on October 31; on North-west Europe: on the state of the warship Tirpitz and of German morale in northern Norway, on October 31; on the Southern Russian Front: of a commandant being appointed for the GAF units on Crimea, on October 31; on South Europe: a report of Allied raids on northern Italy, on October 30; a GAF final report for October 31; and 2nd Parachute Division reports on Allied air attacks on Civita Vecchia, on October 31.
