This file includes the following correspondence: telegrams sent to General Ismay at Cairo on the Prime Minister's (PM's) instructions; and the following reports on South-east Europe: of vessels being transferred to Cos for an operation, probably against Leros, on October 31; that the German Air Force (GAF) are running short of fuel, with guidance on economy measures, on October 31; of Italian information that British commandoes are transiting through Turkey to link up with partisans, on October 31; and that the German Navy are aware of an accumulation of Allied landing ships in Adriatic ports, on October 31; on North-west Europe: on the state of the warship Tirpitz and of German morale in northern Norway, on October 31; on the Southern Russian Front: of a commandant being appointed for the GAF units on Crimea, on October 31; on South Europe: a report of Allied raids on northern Italy, on October 30; a GAF final report for October 31; and 2nd Parachute Division reports on Allied air attacks on Civita Vecchia, on October 31.
