A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: that the German Air Force (GAF) have set up a fighter control post for the defence of Rome, on August 23; a German report that no indication of enemy attacks across the Straits of Messina has been observed, on August 22; on GAF arrangements for the evacuation of anti-aircraft artillery ammunition from Reggio, on August 22; and that the GAF are to conduct reconnaissance of shipping at Bizerta, on August 23.
