This file includes the following reports: a BONIFACE summary from Brigadier Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); on South Europe: of the German Air Force's (GAF) operational orders for the night of September 15-16; of an attack on shipping in the Bay of Salerno; that the enemy are believed to be withdrawing; a 76th Panzer Corps report for September 14; that the 16th Panzer Division is to continue its attack against heavy resistance; that the GAF are to set up an air transport unit with confiscated Italian aircraft, on September 14; that German units previously ordered to remain north of the Apennines are to be sent to the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) South, on September 14; an Army Group B morning report, for September 15, noting that Fiume has been occupied; of a German request for action on a weakly guarded, but valuable, Italian air park near Milan, on September 14; and that the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division is evacuating Corsica, on September 15.
