This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) situation report for February 10, describing activities being hampered by weather conditions; and that German tanks are 6 km east of Gafsa; a 5th Panzer Army situation report, noting lively artillery fire; and that an Allied attack was beaten off; a military situation report to 0900 on February 10 for the Russian Front, stating that Soviet forces have strengthened their bridgehead south of Novorossisk, and that attacks south of Voroshilovgrad were repulsed; of unsuccessful Soviet attacks south east and east of Kharkov; and that German forces east of the Donets were withdrawing to the west bank; the Japanese minister in Sofia comments on reports of peace moves within Europe, on January 28; the Japanese minister in Berne comments on reports of dissatisfaction with the results of the Casablanca Conference, on February 2; and the Turkish ambassador in Berlin reports a meeting with the German Chief of Protocol at which the Adana meeting was discussed, on February 5.
