A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that 3 Sardinian airfields are to prepare to receive German Air Force (GAF) fighter aircraft probably being withdrawn from Tunisia, on April 21; that additional elements of the Hermann Goering Division were ordered by Hitler to deploy to North Africa via Italy, with the units being in transit by April 18; tank returns for the German Africa Corps and the 1st Italian Army, on April 18; that an upgraded twin-engined fighter, the ME-410, is to be sent to the Mediterranean area, on April 21; and that the Panzer regiment of the Hermann Goering Division is not to proceed to North Africa but to remain in Italy as a reinforcement for the battle group in Sicily, on April 18; on the Russian Front: of heavy fighting on the Caucasus bridgehead, on April 20; and that the Germans claim Soviet attacks were repulsed at the Novorossijsk bridgehead, on April 21.
