Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the German attack was broken off, with the front line unchanged; that an Allied force has been sighted in front of the Italian front line; that the Italian Trieste Division have regained a position captured by the Allies; on disagreement between the Italians over command of the flak defences of Tobruk, on July 15; of German-Italian discord over the allocation of space in shipping to Libya; on Allied action causing problems for Axis supply columns, on July 16; of a high mortality rate in the burned wounded who have been given incorrect treatment; and that the Italian tanker Fassio discharged fuel in Tobruk on July 15; and Naval Headlines, on a state of alert in the Channel Islands for the week following July 16.
