This file includes the following reports: Naval Headlines of August 18, including that the Admiral Scheer is at sea south-west of the Lofoten Islands on August 16; and that the Scharnhorst and Nuernberg are expected in Gdynia on August 17; on North Africa: that a new disposition of German Air Force (GAF) units is planned for August 22; and that a parachute operation is planned involving fifty Ju52 aircraft on August 18; on the Russian Front: a day report for August 17, including that the mountains southwest of Maikop have been captured, that the 4th Panzer Army reached its objective, and that the 6th Army is still fighting in the loop of the River Don against fierce Soviet opposition; and that an Me109 aircraft unit is to be transferred from the Russian Front to North Africa on August 30; and on Western Europe: a report of an Allied landing in the Seine-Somme area on August 19.
