This file includes the following reports: that Tmini in North Africa was being evacuated in the face of the approach of British forces; that on the Russian Front a Soviet offensive in the Kalinin area was increasing in strength on December 11; and that the situation of German forces in the Tula area was critical on December 11. This file also includes a report from the Chinese chargé in Vichy on French views of the war situation from December 9; a report from the French ambassador in Buenos Aires on Argentinian views on involvement in the war from December 8; a report from the Portuguese minister in Washington on Spanish apprehension over Hitler's intentions from December 9; comments of the Turkish ambassador in Washington on Russia and the war in the Far East on December 9; and a report from the Turkish ambassador in Berlin on German views on the war in the Far East from December 9.
