A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. The file contains the following reports: a fragmentary German Air Force (GAF) operations report in North Africa of December 5; a GAF report of December 5; intelligence of the locations of GAF fighter units on the Russian Front from December 6; a fragment of a ground forces report on the Moscow Front of December 5; intelligence on a withdrawal of German forces to the concentration line on December 9 and on a German attack on Tula which was suspended due to cold and lack of supplies on December 6; a fragment of an Army Group Centre report of December 5 on a Soviet breakthrough and the defensive by the German 3rd Armoured Group from December 5; and a 41st Army Corps report for December 7. This file also contains a message from the Italian ambassador in Washington reporting that Roosevelt had granted Lease and Lend for the defence of Turkey on December 7.
