A file of correspondence concerning shipping in the territorial waters of the Soviet Union. Subjects covered in the file include a Norwegian enquiry on the limits of Soviet territorial waters, with reference to navigational charts and appropriate demarcation lines; and the activities of British fishing vessels in areas near to the Soviet Union. Further correspondence concerns the prohibition of shipping in certain areas by the Soviet Union, who claim they are dumping ammunition or have laid mines there; and the British notes of protest at the Soviet restrictions, arguing they are in violation of the principles of the freedom of the high seas.
