A file of correspondence and reports concerning the clearing of the Corfu Channel. The documents discuss the anxiety of the Greek government that the Corfu Channel should be cleared as soon as possible, as the mines presently drifting within it are a danger both to Greek shipping, and to tourist traffic; and the signature of an agreement between the Greek and Albanian governments regarding the clearance of the channel. The documents also contain a report produced by the British embassy in Athens covering the Albanian-Greek agreement regarding the clearance of the Corfu Channel; and the subsequent reopening of the channel to international shipping for the first time since the onset of the Second World War.
