Other documents in the file include a draft European Parliament report on the organisation of human rights work in the political affairs committee; and briefs for a European Parliament colloquy covering repression in the Soviet Union, the reduced rates of Jewish emigration, human rights in the Soviet Union, and the cases of a human rights activist, Anatolii Shcharanskii, and a physicist, Andrei Sakharov. Other documents in the file include the provisional agenda for a session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights; the British aims and objectives for the session; and British concerns that the situation in Northern Ireland will be raised at the session.
