Subjects covered in the file include the reduction of military rations; the losses of foods and feeding stuffs due to the sinking of cargo ships and air raids; livestock policies, such as the slaughtering of cattle, pigs, and poultry; and provisions to improve the population's nutrition, such as the fortification of commodity foods with vitamins and minerals. Other subjects discussed include the increase of cheese rations for vegetarians; the issue of agricultural work on Sundays; the production and nutritional value of yeast; and fertiliser requirements to increase agricultural yields.
