(3) Economics are being sought in public health staffs (other than those in hospitals), but owing to the heavy additional duties imposed on those staffs by the war the yield to be expected from this source cannot be substantial and may only amount to about 50. (4) Some 600 alien doctors have obtained civilian medical employment, mostly in hospitals and in the school medical service, under the Temporary Registration Order. (5) Final year students have taken the place of junior house officers in hospitals.
