MACHINERY FOR CHECKING REGISTRATION UNDER THE NATIONAL SERVICE ACTS. Memo. by Minister of Labour and National Service.

20 March 1942

Premium

Summary

NATIONAL SERVICE ACTS. FAILURE TO REGISTER. 1. The machinery for tracking down persons who fail to register under the Acts is based upon the National Register prepared by the Registrar—General from particulars furnished by the public in September, 1939. The Central index of this Register is kept up-to-date insofar as the Registrar—General is notified of changes of address, enlistment in the forces, departure from Great Britain or death of the persons concerned. Members of the public have a personal interest in notifying changes of address since otherwise they get into difficulty with their ration books.
