3. The improved model, which has been fully tested, would gve the following immediate advantages of special importance:- (a) A 50% increase in the ploughing output of each tractor, since these would be capable of pulling three furrows instead of two; consequent economy in labour, greater opportunity of carrying out ploughing operations in most favourable weather conditions, and reduced need for imported tractors. (b) An annual fuel saving of 400 to 500 gallons, or 2 tons, per tractor, and consequent saving of shipping.
