The sources from which stocks of petroleum products in Italian East Africa can be replenished are:(a) French Somaliland. In French Somaliland there were about 10,000 tons of fuel oil, 2,000 tons of diesel oil and 500 tons of aviation spirit. The French are reported to have bartered their petroleum stocks with the Italians for food. (b) The Far East. It is possible that occasional tankers slip into Mogadisciu.
