A file containing documents concerning American-Soviet foreign relations. The file includes a series of communiqués on the shooting down of an American aircraft by Soviet fighters in the Bering Strait; a note from the United States government to the Soviet Union concerning the incident; a summary of questions asked to the United States Secretary of State concerning the incident at an American press conference; and a map detailing the events of the crash. The file also includes an application by the United States government to the International Court of Justice instituting proceedings against the Soviet Union in response the destruction of an American aircraft in Japan.
