A file of correspondence and reports concerning religious matters in Yugoslavia. The documents cover reactions to the declaration of autocephaly by the Macedonian branch of the Serbian Orthodox Church; the inauguration ceremony of the Macedonian church; the visit of Athenagoras I, the patriarch of Constantinople, to Yugoslavia; and a report on the Roman Catholic Church and religious freedom in Croatia. Other documents in the file cover the imprisonment of a priest and editor of a Catholic newspaper on charges of anti-constitutional activity; and a visit to Yugoslavia by a representative of the Church of England Council on Foreign Relations, which included a meeting with the Serbian patriarch, German.
